Born and raised in Waco, Texas, MaxTooker’s career spans more than five decades in broadcasting and

marketing as a radio show host, television investigative reporter, news director /anchor, and advertising

executive.

Max began his journey at fifteen years old as a weekend disc jockey at a popular Waco radio station.

After college and a stint in the Army, he gravitated to news and worked for heritage radio stations in

Fort Worth, Abilene, and Dallas before moving back to Waco to co-host a morning show on a startup

radio station. His introduction into television came about a year later when the general manager of

KCEN-TV in the Waco/Temple market hired him as news director and to anchor the local early and late

night newscasts. It was the beginning of a long and distinguished career in markets like Huntsville,

Alabama, Alexandria, Louisiana, West Palm Beach, Florida, and Cape Town, South Africa, the latter as a

national voiceover artist and business owner. He has been responsible for managing startup radio and

TV stations, as well as strengthening existing stations utilizing his knack for successful management

techniques.
